Christopher Wright Photography

Chris Wright's career began as Chief Photographer for his local newspaper. During that time it became apparent that there was a need for a commercial photographer in the Stratford-upon-Avon area- and so Chris Wright Photography was formed in 1974.

By 1976 the industrial and audiovisual market had expanded to such an extent that Chris began to specialise in these areas. From the late 70's to early 80's Chris Wright Photography grew through his work with such clients as Rolls Royce, Peugeot, IBM, IMI and many smaller companies covering brochure shoots and catalogue work.

Chris's close connections with photojournalism enabled him to handle such events as product launches, public relations exercises and photography for industrial magazines.

The late 80's and early 90's a new opportunity arrive with the ever-expanding leisure market and Chris moved into photographing both interiors and exteriors of hotels, holiday complexes and cottages.

In the early 90's a new holiday company, Rural Retreats, was formed. Chris started to photograph all their properties and they have now gone on to become the market leader in their field. Chris still does all their brochure photography.

In conjunction with the expanding architectural and interior photography market Chris still maintained his contacts with local commercial needs and in 1993 moved to a location 3 miles south of Stratford where he was able to convert a barn next to his house into a spacious studio. Whilst still doing light industrial work, his photography of flowers, plants, and jewellery, has won him a number of awards.

2000 saw a move yet again, this time into a new technology - electronic imaging. Over the past 3 years Chris's former photographic knowledge has proved invaluable in this move into the digital era, to such an extent that nearly all his work is now done electronically. However he still retains his "in-house" processing as there is always room for doing things "the old way" on film.
